Water source & treatment
The 2025 town report describes membrane ultrafiltration and colour-removal treatment when needed, followed by primary and secondary chlorine disinfection. It notes that fluoride has not been added since March 2016. Operational figures are annual-monitoring ranges; some instrument readings require the report's calibration and analyzer context. They are not a single household measurement or a claim that an untreated Georgian Bay intake has the same quality as the municipal supply.
What this means for your home
For a town-connected home, assess the actual tap-water concern and existing plumbing before adding equipment. For cottages and properties on wells or private intakes, use laboratory testing of that source and review the complete treatment setup. The district health unit supplies private-water sampling guidance and collection locations. Seasonal use, accessibility, winterization and maintenance frequency can materially affect equipment choices, so include them when discussing a property outside the town network.
