Water source & treatment
The City describes river-water treatment involving screening, coagulation and flocculation, settling, filtration, disinfection and pH adjustment before distribution. Its 2025 annual water-quality review separates Aylmer, Buckingham, Gatineau and Hull results and records sampling exceptions and corrective actions. The figures shown here are specifically for the Gatineau plant's distributed-water sector. They should not be labelled averages for all four plants or assurances about a particular home's plumbing.
What this means for your home
Use the report for your plant sector and assess the water actually arriving at the home. A taste preference, a household plumbing concern and a measured contaminant each call for a different response. Select any treatment against the relevant test result and documented performance claim. Keep current City notices separate from annual historical data, and confirm service arrangements for the Quebec property when requesting an appointment.
