Water source & treatment
The 2025 report describes conventional surface-water treatment using screening, coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration and disinfection. Sodium hypochlorite provides primary disinfection, with ultraviolet light used as an enhancement. Niagara publishes treated-water and distribution measurements separately for several parameters. The water-quality directory provides the report route for Welland and other Niagara municipalities. Use the report year and sampling location when comparing results, rather than presenting all numbers as measurements taken from residential taps.
What this means for your home
Welland homeowners can use the published alkalinity, pH and disinfectant data as background for a water assessment. If your goal is better taste or fewer deposits, identify the issue and measure the incoming water before selecting equipment. Check any existing filter’s replacement schedule as part of that visit. Velora can then match the solution to the household’s use and plumbing. The report’s system ranges support that conversation but do not establish a home-specific problem.
